Qualifications & Competencies

Holder of a degree or masters in economics.

Have a thorough understanding of the local micro and macro-economic environment and dynamics.

Have a broad understanding and knowledge of the regional macro-economic environment an future challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities

For this position, we are looking for an above average individual who is career oriented, a self starter, ambitious and driven to join the Market and Economic Research team. In addition to their strategic disposition and depth of knowledge, the successful incumbent will be expected to bring in an expert economic and market insights to the team, produce value adding output depending on the requirements of our clients across sectors and boundaries. More specifically you will be expected to:

Devise methods and procedures for obtaining data;

Understands and interpret data;

Create and use econometric modelling techniques to develop forecasts;

Analyse data to assess the effectiveness of current policies, products or services and advising on the suitability of alternative courses of action and the allocation of scarce resources;

Evaluate past and present economic issues and trends and have an opinion about where the market is heading
Advise stakeholders on economic matters;

Write various technical and non-technical papers and articles on economic trends and forecasts to inform the press and public;

Deliver clear and effective presentations to different audiences.

Experience

Have at least 3 years experience as an economist or in a similar role.
