Head of Technology (Product Development and Maintenance Group)

JOB PURPOSE

To lead, plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development, maintenance and implementation of organizational information systems and software products and to drive the technology strategy of the company.

Roles and Responsibilities

1) Strategic Planning

• Assist the CEO in the preparation of the company business plan, corporate strategic planning and policy formulation for the preparation of annual budget as well as in the elaboration of the technology strategy and its adoption in the company and in the implementation of international methodology and best practices in the business operations;

• To formulate and implement the operation plan of the department based on the company business plan, and regularly report on its progress to top management and recommend appropriate measures to address any shortfall;

• Responsible for day-to-day management, administration, operation, financial control, productivity and profitability of the department;


2) Technology Focus

• To identify the top trends in technology and provide technology leadership for the product development and implementation teams and leverage new technologies and concepts to architect future products and solutions;

• To develop strategies, roadmaps and business cases for any change in technology or platform;

• To drive the transformation of the technology of the company's current applications and assist in defining the technology solutions to support any future business requirements;

• To provide platform selection, technical design, and architectures that best achieve short and long term business objectives;


3) Customer Focus

• Establish and maintain good relationships with all clients;

• Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve services to clients;

4) Resource Management

• Provide leadership and motivation to teams to attain set corporate objectives and assume the responsibility of coordinating, planning, controlling and directing of assigned activities of the department;

• Ensure effective and optimum deployment of human resources including development of appropriate skills, capacity building, and knowledge management that constantly grow and evolve with changing technology;

• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and in the finalization of contract functions;

• Ensure a conducive environment for coordination between departments and groups;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A degree in the area of ICT or acceptable equivalent;
• A minimum of 8 years relevant experience including a minimum of 4 years at middle management position in the ICT industry;
• Good understanding of the fast-moving technology landscape;
• Should be well versed in multiple domains and technology products;
• Knowledge in system analysis, design, and development methodologies;
• Knowledge of industry best practices and industry implementation methodologies.
