- Higher School Certificate with technical subjects;
- Vocational preparation: 4 years full-time course;

Roles and Responsibilities

- Receives architectural, structural and service drawings from Contracts Manager;
- Studies plan and drawings to check for accuracy in specifications; reports discrepancies, if any, to Architect or Structural Engineer for necessary amendments or corrections;
- Arranges transportation of containers to construction site for use as store and office and setting up of workshop;
- Liaises with appropriate authorities for supply of water, electricity and telephone on site;
- Contacts Procurement department for supply of materials, tools and equipment to store;
- Liaise with Logistics & Workshop Manager for supply a appropriate machines for excavating, drilling, compacting, preparing concrete/mortar, lifting and carrying building materials;
- Liaises with Human Resources Manager for supply of security services to control in and out movements at gate;
- Prepares work programmes, lists of tradesmen and labourers and time schedule for Foremen; distributes programme and lists to General Foreman for onward transmission to supervisory workers;
- Attends setting of building by Land Surveyor; submits views, where necessary, to ease land surveying works;
- Briefs General Foreman, Foreman and workers on jobs to be performed, time schedule and on safety and health requirements;
- Checks depth of foundation excavated and ensures firm ground before spreading of blinding; requests for compaction and leveling, if any;
- Supervises laying and concreting of reinforcement structures, overall mounting of walls, beams and slab roofing to ascertain conformity with specifications;
- Keeps records of progress of works, concrete tests made by laboratory in respective books;
- Certifies payment of all subcontractors;
- Participates in meetings with Contracts Manager, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Engineer and other consultant.

- Experience training: 10 years as General Foreman;
