Qualifications & Competencies
Diploma/Degree in law
Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office application
Excellent inter-personal and linguistic skills, both written and verbal, in English and in French
Possess excellent organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare legal documentation for litigation work and attend court proceedings
Analyze contracts and highlight risks and problem areas to line management
Explain complex legal matters to line managers
Correspond with, and summarize legal information
Draw up wills and drafting contracts
Advise and prepare documentation on the legal aspects of setting up a new business
Liaise with fellow professionals from courts, legal practices, etc
Act as commissioners for oaths for the swearing of legal documents
Assist barristers and attorneys with the presentation of cases
Keep up to date with changing legislation
Effect filing and indexing of paperwork
Experience
minimum of 3 years supervised legal experience
